It is always better to consume proteins from natural sources than to have supplements. Commonly protein supplements are used by body builders or athletics or people who are malnourished. A healthy well balanced diet contains sufficient amount of proteins required by the body. Natural proteins contain amino acids which are easily digested by the body whereas these artificial sources don't. Apart from this natural protein sources are rich in other nutrients also. As excess of everything is bad so consuming excess protein effects digestive system directly & in long term it may result in kidney & liver problems, diarrhoea & weight gain.

Any person who is eating healthy and balanced diet from natural sources and does not require any extra proteins should not prefer them. People who have a history of dairy, soy or whey protein allergy should not go for any dosage of protein. Also, people who have a weak kidney or digestive disorder or a very weak liver should refrain from them.
