Diabetics should try and avoid alcohol,as it is a fermented extract of simple sugar syrups like grape juice, apple juice, barley, rice water, which have a very high glycemic index and thus immediately increases blood sugar levels.

    Hi

No, While moderate amounts of alcohol can cause blood sugar to rise, excess alcohol can actually decrease your blood sugar level -- sometimes causing it to drop into dangerous levels.Alcohol stimulates your appetite, which can cause you to overeat and may affect your blood sugar control.
