Milk and dairy products are rich in calcium.Never mix calcium and iron rich diet.
If you are including foods rich in iron in lunch and dinner then take dairy products in breakfast and evening or vice versa.
Never mix salt and milk together in any recipe as it leads to skin disease.
Milk has different role in different conditions .
For weight gain take milk with banana and mango as shakes.
For mental and physical strength take it with almonds.
To get rid of acid reflux take it cold before sleeping.
For constipation take it warm with munakka (Sultanas or large raisins).
For cold , cough and body pain due to injury take it hot with turmeric.

It is better to take curds in day, avoid them in night as they may cause cold ,cough and constipation.
The quantity of dairy products needed daily depends upon the physical and physiological needs of the individual.

    Hi Bhags,
In Ayurveda explains curd (Dadhi) as having sour mixed sweet property and it increase Kapha dosha(characteristics of Kapha include heaviness, softness, sweetness, cold, stability) in the body. the mucus generation is also attributed to the effect of Kapha. and during night period, ther is natural pridominance of Kapha in the body. So, curd consumption at night will further increase kapha leading to many complications.
This is quite similar to exposing yourself to hot Sun in the afternoon hours, which is not reccomended, because, afternoon period is naturally Pitta pridminant period and sun exposure also increases Pitta.
