Roti/chapati does not increase weight as such But one should make sure that that oil or fat is not applied to it.A normal chapati without oil or fat gives about 80-85 calories.Whereas chapati with fat or oil gives an additional of 45 calories.Thus making it total of 130 calories.
I agree roti or chappati does not increase weight. To make it more fiber rich you can include ragi, oats bran, jowar, barley and bajra along with the regular ata that you are using.

I completely agree with ambika.Roti or chapati without fat does not increases weight.Adding fat or oil almost doubles its calories.
