Is coconut(fresh or dry) good for health?

I eat coconut rice made of fresh coconuts.Also,my mother includes dry coconut flakes in some curries.So,i do include both kinds of coconuts(dry and fresh) in my diet.
1) Is this good for health??
2) Is it healthy when trying to lose weight?

    Hi Anita,

    yes fresh coconut is good for health in many ways, it has a boosting effect on the thyroid, provides fiber and also protects against breast and colon cancer.

    as far as weight loss is concerned, fresh coconut in a restricted amout will be good. avoid dry coconut as it contains oil and may increase the fat intake
