A balanced diet consist a combination carbohydrate, protein and minimum amounts of fats. Carbohydrate constitute the major a part of diet, followed by proteins and fats. The good source of carbohydrate are whole wheat cereals like Oats, Ragi or finger millet, Jowar, Bajra, Broken wheat, apart from cereals you have baked potatoes, good source of protein are egg whites, fish and lean meat, pulses and legumes. and also milk and milk products. Avoid having saturated fats like ghee, butter. And have unsaturated oil like mustard oil, olive oil, Sunflower oil and Soya bean oil.

Eating a balanced diet means choosing a wide variety of foods and drinks from all the food groups. It also means eating certain things in moderation, namely saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, refined sugar, salt and alcohol. The goal is to take in nutrients you need for health at the recommended levels. A balanced diet must contain carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, mineral salts and fibre. It must contain these things in the correct proportions
