Brown rice is not low in calories. It just has more fibres than white/polished rice, so it takes more calorie to digest and the fibre content helps in completing the digestion process.
If you really can't have brown rice, try this:
1. Use access water to cook plain white rice and throw the water out of it after the cooking is done.
2. Have lot of salad along with the rice, to compensate for the fibres in brown rice.
