Brown sugar is used in all baked sweet items. Honey is a healthy alternative to brown sugar. So is jaggery but it may give an entirely different taste to your dish. Jaggery is not but suitable for baked foods. Saccharin is sweet but lesser in calories than brown sugar. Two natural and better organic alternatives to any kind of sugar are stevia which is a herb being used as a sweetener; xylitol taken from birch tree. They are healthy but may not taste the same as sugar. You cannot use them in all kind of recipes. These sugars will be more costly too. No pain ,no gain!

Instead of brown sugar , you can take honey, jaggery, artificial sweetener are best option. But the sweet or sugar or jaggery or artificial sweetener should be limited because of high calories, some of side effects , leads to obese, etc.
