What are the food items that I can include in a health point diet?

    The health point diet is supposed to be an eye opener to nutrition and about eating food the right way. There are a number of weight loss programs in the market these days. If you ask me frankly, I think you need to try it out yourself to see which weight loss program suits you best. I guess the food items included in the health point diet plan include protein bars, shakes, lean meat and fruits and vegetables a few desserts, for people who have a sweet tooth. Keep a watch on your progress and if it works well for you, that's great.

    The following food item should be include in health point of plan.
    i) Food to include
    * Cereals & grains: Whole grains like ragi, brown rice, red rice, oats, whole wheat ,whole wheat bread, multi grain bread, ragi biscuit, atta noodles, etc.

    * Pulses: Whole dals, legumes

    * Vegetables : Includes more of green vegetables, fresh greens , all salad types.

    * Fruits : lemon, orange, apple, watermelon, sweet lime, guava, papaya, grapefruits , pear, jamun, musk melon, green apple, kiwi & low glycemic fruit.

    * Milk & milk products : Skimmed milk , low fat curd , buttermilk, paneer.

    * Sugar: Sugar should very limited- 2-3 stp in a day.

    * Fats & nuts : Oil in moderation -3tspoon in a day. Nuts like flax seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, groundnut- very limited amount. Use vegetable oil for cooking.

    * Non- veg : Lean meat once in 15 days or month , skinless chicken , egg white, fish .

    ii) Food to be limited or avoided:

    * Cereals & grains: Refined products like maida, corn flour, white bread, white noodles, sago, refined rava, etc.

    * Pulses-

    * Vegetables: Potato , yam , tapioca, red pumpkin, colocasia, peas.

    * Fruits : High calorie fruits like mango, jack fruits, chikoo, dates, grapes(both the types), custard apple , pine apple , wood apple , sugar cane , all types of juices, canned juices.

    * Milk & milk products : Whole milk , cheese, butter, ghee, khoa, ice cream, etc.

    * Sweets & sugar products: Bakery products, sweets , jam jelly , chocolates, etc.

    * Fats & oils: Coconut oil , palm oil, butter, ghee, deep fried, pickles, chips.

    * Non- veg: Organ meat , mutton, beef, pork, egg yolk, etc.

    i agree, the above mentioned foods are very rich in nutrient. They can be included in the daily diet. Prefer to go for baking, steaming. roasting methods of cooking to get the maximum benefits.
