Mucus is a substance which though is useful but the over secretion of which makes it very unwanted. The secretion occurs from the various stem cells and its composition is generally only salt, water and mucin. Over secretion of this mucus can be troublesome as it leads to a blocked nose. Pineapple is a very effective food for patients suffering from mucus formation as the bromelain present in it helps a lot in withstanding the mucus formation and helps in restoring the welfare of the patients. Try it for once and you will surely see rewarding results in a very short time.

When you are sick, consuming certain foods can promote the production of mucus, making the urge to cough worse. These include dairy products, fried foods and meats. Avoid these when you have a cold to help prevent the creation of mucus coughs.
