The Liver is located on the right side of the abdomen and is the largest gland in the human body with a size that roughly matches that of a football. Some scientist considers liver to be more precious than brain or heart due to the important function it performs in our body. It is responsible for digestion, production and destabilization of enzymes in our body. Foods that should be out of the list for a person who needs to lower liver enzymes are fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables, and fresh fruit juices, foods that have high amounts of carbohydrates, common skinless poultry or even fish. The best option for a special diet to lower liver enzymes is eating raw vegetable salads, with minimal amount of dressing.

Some of the foods that lower liver enzymes include:
*Avoid, or strictly limit, alcohol consumption. More than one drink of alcohol per day can cause a significant rise in liver enzymes.
*Drink more water. Water helps flush toxins out of the body, and toxins can bog down the liver and impair its function.
*Diet should be rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, juice and plenty of water to keep your system healthy and fighting fit.
*Avoid fatty, greasy foods, sugar and other foods that harm the system.
*Meat consumption should be restricted to just about three announces per day and try switching to broiled or roasted poultry or fish instead of having fried meats.
*Add milk thistle to your daily routine. Milk thistle is an herb that protects liver cells and promotes their healthy regeneration.
In addition to following a strict diet to lower liver enzymes, it is also necessary to set up a workout regime, which includes at least half an hour of exercising each day.The liver needs a continual fresh supply of blood to bring it nutrients that are needed for it to function well.
