My husband most certainly is not allowed to eat any sugar. He will get whipped if he does. :) Just kidding. But seriously if you have diabetes then avoiding sugar at all costs is essential. If you eat sugar then you are likely to cause some damage to yourself. High levels of blood sugar can even cause death in some cases so don't take any risks. But if you are not suffering from very high levels then you might be allowed to take little bit of sugar. Consult your doctor to confirm. You can use one of the many sugar substitutes that are available.

Not at all. Sugar is 1st enemy for diabetes, the body normally coverts all kind of sugar to glucose. As blood glucose raise, the pancreas secrete the hormones insulin to carry glucose to body to all part of body or stores until they needs. For some reasons the insulin doesn't work properly & it increase ur glucose level in the blood & sugar is very high in glycemic index so better to avoid.
