Sugar or chemically sucrose a kind of simple carbohydrate provides nothing but empty calories. It is devoid of almost all the essential nutrients. If you are weight conscious your intake of table sugar should not be more than 2-3 tsp per day.Other sources of sugar include honey, jaggery, squashes, fruit juices, candies, cold drinks and sweets. These foods should also be restricted in the diet.
