Type 1 diabetes is also called as juvenile diabetes as it occurs mostly in children. The disease is primarily due to deficiency of insulin in the body;i.e.insulin is produced in inadequate amounts. The subjects require synthetic insulin to be injected in their body so as to maintain normal sugar levels.Diet has to be primarily low in simple sugars, and good in protein.
