Obesity can lead to non insulin dependent diabetes or type 2diabetes.besity causes stress in a system of cellular membranes called endoplasmic reticulum (ER), which in turn causes the endoplasmic reticulum to suppress the signals of insulin receptors, which then leads to insulin resistance. So it is very necessary to keep check on weight. As obesity leads to many more diseases.

    Hi

Yes, generally obese is caused by over eating of high foods, carbs, starches & sugars, low in protein & high in fat. This will increase in abdominal fat is linked to glucose intolerance. Fat cells release a novel protein called pigment epithelium- derived factor (PEDF), when PEDF is released into the bloodstream, the pancreas then produces more insulin or stopping producing insulin & leads to type 2 diabetes.
