Diabetes causes obesity

Diabetes does not causes obesity. Infact obesity can be a cause for diabetes. As in obesity there is insufficient utilization and uptake of insulin hormone which is the major cause of diabetes.

Both obesity and diabetes are interrelated. Usually in diabetics carbohydrate metabolism is affected due to lack of or insufficient insulin production thus, there is more calories converted to fat leading to obesity. Also some hormonal and genetics factors are predicted to play some role in getting obese.

There are two factors for causes: 1.Family history 2. Environmental factors.

Hereditary -It depends upon closeness of blood relationship like one of parent having diabetes means 40% of risk is there , both the parents means 90% risk is there , none of the parents are not diabetes , but any blood related means 25 % of risk is there .
Environmental factors includes like over eating , poor nutrition ,age , stress , any mild health condition, sex, drug, infection, serum lipids,obesity
Stress : Either physical injury or emotional disturbance is frequently blamed as the initial cause of the disease. .
Drug Induced: Clozapine (Clozaril), olanzapine (Zyprexa), risperidone (Risperdal), quetiapine (Seroquel) and ziprasidone (Geodon) are known to induce this lethal disease.
