    Hi Geethika khour

There are three types of diabetes: Type 1, Type 2, Gestational diabetes.

Type1 Is known as Insulin depended diabetes (IDDM). In this type, the pancreas produces little insulin or not producing any insulin. A person who has type1 diabetes should take insulin daily to maintain the glucose level in the blood & to live.
Type 2 is known as Non insulin depended diabetes (NIDDM). This type is associated with older age, family history, and physical inactivity, overweight. More than 80% of people are diabetes with overweight. In type 2 diabetes, the pancreas is usually producing insulin but some season, the body cannot use the insulin effectively. A person who has type 2 diabetes, you should change your life style, increase physical activity, food habits.

Gestational diabetes seen only during pregnancy. Women who have had gestational diabetes have a 20- 50 % of risk are there to develop type 2 diabetes within 5- 10 years.

    Hi,
Great article. I agree , foot care and overall body hygiene very important for diabetic peoples to avoid any injury. For diabetic peoples the healing time is more than a normal individual. So best thing is to wear proper foot wear and inspect 3 times atleast in a day.
