    Hi prerna,

PCOD does lead to weight gain, can possibly be because of the inflammation due to hormonal imbalance ... the best thing to control this weight is by exercising regularly , and by eating a healthy low calorie diet. one of the study suggest tht the insulin response of the body changes in PCOD which can lead to weight gain , but actually it is very complex. one gud way of weight loss in such ladies is by following the dietary guidelines for diabetes , that is high fibre, low sugar , low GI food. and regular exercise to increase the insulin responce of the body. it is desirable to set a achievable goal, as the weight lose rate is slow in comparison to a lady without PCOD. inability to meet the set goal leads to depression and stress.. further increasing the weight . take the help of a professional to plan a proper diet and exercise schedule.
