High blood pressure is very harmful. It causes the heart to pump harder to circulate the blood. In time, the heart muscles may tire from the added strain. High blood pressure contributes to hardening of the arteries, which causes blood vessels to become hardened, less elastic, and narrower. Injury of these blood vessels may cause damage to important organs-the heart, brain, kidneys, and eyes. This can lead to serious medical problems including heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure and blindness. Hypertension reduces life expectancy, and the higher the pressure the greater the mortality. So it is better tio contol the blood pressure with slight moderation in diet as well as regular exercise.

    Hi

When pressure increased to above normal level (140/90mmhg) is called hypertension. Of course hypertension is very dangerous because it requires your heart should pump very hardly. This can changes your heart, can harden the walls of the arteries, which raises the risk for heart disease, kidney problem, eye problems(blindness) & sometimes leads to death (very rare conditions).
